The Tortiglione single varietal olive derives its name from the distinctive right-twisting twisted trunk it exhibits. Unlike other olives, Tortiglione olives cannot be mechanically harvested, making them deeply rooted in the Marche tradition of manual olive picking. 

Tortiglione olives have a late ripening period, resulting in an oil rich in polyphenols, giving it a characteristic bitter and spicy taste. These unique qualities make it particularly valuable for enhancing oils with low fruitiness. The resulting oil is clear and green, making it ideal for enriching legume soups such as beans, chickpeas, and lentils. Additionally, it imparts a delightful flavour when used on grilled meats and vegetable soups.
